Book Drive Benefiting the Goodman Community Center a Great Success!
Thanks to everyone who brought in books for all ages during our "March Into Literacy" book drive. We delivered more than 500 books to the Goodman Community Center, and they really, really appreciate it!

New Menu Items at the Daisy
We have many new items on our menus, including a great extension of our Gluten-Free offerings!
Changes to our Lunch menu:
  • All of our "Salad Salads"--Caprese Egg Salad, Tuscan Tuna Salad and the NEW Salmon & Greens Salad--come served a bed of spring mix lettuce, as gluten-free options. (A grilled ciabatta roll, or any other bread option, is available on request.)
  • We've updated our steak salad to a Southwest Steak Salad. Grilled marinated steak served on a bed of spring mix lettuce with roasted corn, pico de gallo, chopped bacon, pepper jack and Cheddar cheeses, house-made tortilla strips and sour cream, served with Orange-Shallot vinaigrette.
NEW to the Dinner menu:
  • All of our pastas--Salmon in Lemon-Garlic Sauce, Pork & Bacon Ragu, and Daisy Pesto & Vegetable--are now available with gluten-free pasta from our friends and neighbors at RP's Pasta!
  • Steak with Cabernet-Bacon-Mushroom Sauce. A full-flavored sauce made with Cupcake Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon!
  • Chicken with Spinach & ProsciuttoTopped with Parmesan and Asiago cheeses and a lighter sauce made with Cupcake Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon!
  • Pork Tenderloin with Porter-BBQ Sauce. Made with Ale Asylum Contorter Porter!
April Deluxe Cupcakes Have Two Themes--"International Flavors" and "May Flowers"! 

Cupcakes feature flavors from 6 countries around the world (5 continents) as well as flower-themed frosting designs! (After all, we had plenty of April showers this year--May flowers seemed only fitting.)
  • BAHAMAS -- Rum cake with Papaya buttercream filling and Guava buttercream frosting. The cake is designed after the guava flower.
  • BOLIVIA -- Coconut cake with Arroz con Leche filling and Mango buttercream frosting, with Chocolate ganache design details. The flower is based on one that is prominent throughout southern Bolivia. 
  • CHINA -- Almond cake with Lychee buttercream filling and 5-Spice buttercream frosting. The flower is like the almond tree flower. 
  • ICELAND -- Potato cake with Salted Caramel filling and Caramel frosting and Poppy Seeds. This takes some explaining--in Iceland, there is an unusual (to us) but common side dish made of chopped, boiled potatoes coated with caramel. The flower is a pale poppy, the national flower of Iceland. (Gluten-Free!)
  • MOROCCO -- Moroccan-Spice Chocolate cake with Coffee-Pistachio ganache filling and Orange buttercream frosting, topped with Pistachio. As to the flower, well... We don't know it's name but we Google Imaged Moroccan flowers and found this orange one, which looked pretty and fit with the Orange buttercream flavor.
  • GERMANY -- Chocolate Sponge cake with Kirsch (Cherry Brandy) Whipped Cream filling and Whipped Cream frosting, topped with a Kirsch-soaked Cherry. The flower is inspired by the iconic German Edelweiss flower.

Isthmus Readers' Poll Names the Daisy "Madison's Favorite Waitstaff" for the THIRD YEAR RUNNING, as well as Runner-Up for "Madison's Favorite Breakfast Sandwich" and second Runner-Up for "Madison's Favorite Kid-Friendly Restaurant" in the 2012 Poll

We're honored. These acknowledgements complement our runner-up finish as "Madison's Favorite Sweet" in the 2011 poll (a category discontinued this year). Thanks to all who voted for us!

The Daisy Places at the Dueling Chefs Competition!
The Daisy is proud to receive third place honors at the 2012 Madison Dueling Chefs competition. This was our first our entry into a Dueling 
Chefs event, and we are very pleased to stack up so well against Madison's finest!

The Daisy Cafe & Cupcakery "Four C's"
We built the Daisy with four goals clearly in mind.
Cafe   Breakfast and Lunch served from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM every day, featuring inventive comfort food always made from scratch, including great Vegetarian and Gluten-Free selections. Try one of four signature breakfast egg Stratas or one of six specialty Meat Loaves. Dinner served Tuesdays through Saturdays, featuring rotating Dinner Specials as well as 6 varieties of Meatloaf, Burgers, Soups and Salads. We also serve beer and wine, and some classic cocktails.
Cupcakery   Cupcakes baked from scratch in-house daily. Quality ingredients, natural flavors--no artificial flavors or artificial colorings or preservatives. Delicious premium cupcakes with new flavors all the time. Vegan and Gluten-Free selections daily!
Coffeehouse   Serving locally-owned, fair-trade, organic Johnson Brothers Coffee products and Madison's award-winning, fair-trade, organic Cha Cha Teas.
Community   Enjoy Porchlight Products on the menu and available for retail purchase. The Daisy is largest customer of Porchlight Products in Madison. Have a latte and a cupcake in the community lounge. Post local events and announcements on the community bulletin board. Free Wi-Fi!
