Community Events & Participation
For us, all the good food and service is just one great way to meet our Atwood neighbors and make friends from all over Madison (and some beyond). We are also proud to support local causes when we can.

Our primary community partner is Porchlight, whose motto is "a helping hand, not a hand-out." They help transition homeless and displaced people back into the mainstream by providing housing support, meals, and job training. Porchlight Products is a division that teaches people to create high-quality food using mainly local ingredients so they can build job skills that can be applied throughout their lives.
The Daisy Cafe & Cupcakery is proud to be the largest retailer of Porchlight Products in Madison!

Beyond that, we take part when we can in community-building efforts of all sorts. Cupcakes please young and old, so we tend to donate larger and smaller packages of cupcakes, to match the event. Some recent events are listed below.
Porchlight Annual Dinner
In November, Porchlight holds its annual dinner and auction. We contributed the auction item of "a dozen cupcakes a month, every month, for a year."

One Heartland "Dining Out for Life" Day of Giving
One Heartland has enjoyed great success with this event in Milwaukee and they brought it to Madison for the first time this November. 25% of sales from restaurants across the city were donated to help fund One Harvest in their mission to improve the lives of children, youth, and their families impacted by HIV/AIDS and other significant life challenges worldwide.

March of Dimes Annual Signature Chef Auction
Held in October at the Monona Terrace with many other fine restaurateurs, this event raised some $75,000 to help the March of Dimes mission to fight childhood diseases and promote healthy pre-natal practices. We were invited to bring a baker instead of a chef and we sampled out hundreds of cupcakes. We also contributed the auction item of "a cupcake a day, every day, for a year."
